We consider a family of quantum graphs {(?, A_?)}_?0, where ? is a Z^n-periodic metric graph and the periodic Hamiltonian A_? is defined by the operation ??^?1 d^2/dx^2 on the edges of ? and either ?'-type conditions or the Kirchhoff conditions at its vertices. Here ?0 is a small parameter. We show that the spectrum of A_? has at least m gaps as ? ? 0 (m ? N is a predefined number), moreover the location of these gaps can be nicely controlled via a suitable choice of the geometry of ? and of coupling constants involved in ?'-type conditions.
