Original language description
In the present study we focused on distribution of cosmopolitan wood-decaying genus Ganoderma in Slovakia and Czech Republic within natural and urban habitats. The 126 specimens collected in studied areas during 2014 - 2018 were identified based on ITS (internal transcribed spacer) sequencing (77 specimens) and micro andmacrofeatures (49 specimens). Identified species include Ganoderma adspersum (25 specimens), G. applanatum (66 specimens), G. resinaceum (9 specimens), G. pfeifferi (8 specimens), G. carnosum (11 specimens) andG. lucidum (7 specimens). G. adspersum and G. resinaceum prefer to grow in lower altitudes in urban areas in temperate zone while G. lucidum was found almost exclusively in natural habitats (except 1 specimen). G. carnosum was collected mainly in urban areas (10 specimens) and basidiocarps originated from higheraltitudes than G. lucidum. On the other hand G. applanatum was almost equally distributed in both natural habitats and urban areas as well as G. pfeifferi. Occurrence of both species was recorded from lowlands till montane zone, but G. pfeifferi was found mostly in parks and beech forests. Rare species G. valesiacum was not recorded at all during our study. Based on our observations we can conclude that there are different habitat preferences within Ganoderma genus.
