Importance of measurig the body composition by means of the BIA and skinfold method in male population who perform physical activities regulary.
Original language description
The aim of this study is to verify the validity of measuring the body composition by means of the field methods (containing the BIA method and the skinfold method) and to compare the results obtained with the results gained by means of the DEXA method. Materials and methods The tested group consisted of 45 males. The average age was 20.2. The DEXA method and BIA method were applied to measure body composition (the Tanita 418 MA device which enables the choice of two different measuring modes according to the quantity of motion activity of a tested individual) and the skinfold method (methods by Pařízková, Matiegka, Drinkwater and by Ross). To assess the validity of measurements the regression functions model was used. A level of significance ? = 0.05 was applied to all statistical tests.
