The aim of this paper is to analyze the process of institutionalization of political parties in post-communist countries in the process of democratic transition. Institutionalization is usually defined as a process in which political parties become "objective", an obvious and socially recognized part of the social system. The analysis is applied to the process of institutionalization of Czech political parties in comparison with other political parties post-communist countries. The analysis is based onthe classical concept of institutionalization of political parties Panebinaca Angela.
