Chapter analyzes the characteristics of population development in the CR in Ostrava in the last 20 years, compares them, dealing with changes in age structure and development prognostikuje number and age structure of population of Ostrava in 2050. Results of analyzes should help to understand the demographic cross any role and function of civil society at national and regional level. Knowledge of the demographic development of society can also avoid the potential risks arising from the interaction of social groups and group behavior in public spaces, such as aging populations opening range of socio-economic issues, or coexistence with immigrants of which are likely to recruit new labor force of working age. On the expected socio-economic changes, so you can already concentrate development of civic competencies of students in primary and secondary schools.
