The Multimodal Adaptive Teaching
Original language description
Up until now, three to four variants of the study material corresponding to the sensory preferences of students (verbal, visual, auditory and kinaesthetic) were used in the research of adaptive education where the study material is automatically adapted to a personal characteristic of the students? learning style. The variants contain the same learning material but were created differently in order to support the student?s most prominent sense. However, an American pedagogue Edgar Dale published his ?Cone of Experience? decades ago (1946). He argues that the more senses are involved in learning, the better is the result. That is reflected in the learning of foreign languages where it is necessary to manage not only the theoretical part (represented by grammar and vocabulary), but also to be able to read, write, speak and listen. Emil Horký?s (2014) research shows that the student?s sensory preferences can also be used. The idea is to use all the sensory variants of study material, but use them individually and in the sequence that corresponds to the student?s sensory preferences.
