In this paper we analyze the phenomenon of vagueness from the point of view of fuzzy logic. Vagueness is understood as one of facets of the indeterminacy phenomenon. First we give an overview of various theories of vagueness. Then we describe the basic properties of fuzzy logic in narrow and broader sense. Finally, we present a description of sorites-like paradoxes in the frame of fuzzy logic in narrow sense. We conclude with a claim that fuzzy logic is a well developed logical system able to deal withthe vagueness phenomenon.

Czech description
V tomto článku analyzujeme fenomén vágnosti z pohledu fuzzy logiky. Vágnost je chápána jako jedna za stránek fenoménu nedeterminovanosti. Nejdříve podáváme přehled existujících teorií vágnosti. Dále popisujeme základní vlastnosti fuzzy logiky v užším a širším smyslu. Na závěr podáváme popis paradoxů typu sorites ve fuzzy logice v širším smyslu. Článek uzavíráme tvrzením, že fuzzy logika je plně vyvinutý logický systém schopný popsat fenomén vágnosti.
