This contribution introduces the technique of Ftransform as a tool for handling the problem of edge detection. An explanation of the problem together with a detailed description of the F-transform technique will be given. Consequently, an algorithm for solving the problem will be provided together with a study of its behavior w.r.t. various parameter setting as well as w.r.t. various existing methods.
