Functional Partial Fuzzy Relations
Original language description
We will study partially defined fuzzy functions, i.e., fuzzy relations that fulfill the functionality property and their membership functions are not necessarily defined everywhere. We will handle them in a suitable framework, namely variable-domain fuzzy set theory. It provides tools for dealing with undefined degrees of membership by means of special operations based on extended connectives and quantifiers of a background fuzzy logic. Furthermore, we analyze a suitability of such operations for a meaningful definition of the functionality property. This property determines partial fuzzy functions and we will be concerned with their properties.
