Original language description
In the recent years there have been several floods in the Czech Republic with devastating effects on road and railroad infrastructure. A great deal of damage was done to bridges and bridge constructions. Hundreds of the bridge constructions were damagedor destroyed. Search for the reason of the bridge constructions failures is the main subject of the paper. It leads us to the problem of designed flow (Qn) and width of bridge opening derived from it. Other reasons are taken into consideration as well.

V posledních letech bylo v České republice několik povodní, které měly devastující účinek na silnice a infrastrukturu. Stovky mostních konstrukcí byly poničeny nebo zcela zničeny. Hledání příčin poruch mostních konstrukcí je hlavní náplní příspěvku. Přivádní nás to k návrhovému průtoku a mostnímu otvoru.
