To Probabilistic Reliability Assessment Methods Applicable in Codes
Original language description
The development of the computer and information technologies allows for consideration the transition from current structural reliability methods applied in the codified design to probabilistic methods based on simulation technique and applicable in the designer?s everyday work. This paper focuses on one of such methods, Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment (SBRA), on mastering the Monte Carlo simulation technique, and on the introduction of non-traditional representation of all input values includingloading. The problems related to the consequent definition of the Reference Values, RV, applied in the calculation of the probability of failure are addressed and the expansion of SBRA from components to systems is indicated.
