Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment of Timber Structures
Original language description
Current European standards for timber structures [19] are based on the semiprobabilistic approach to structural reliability assessment representing by Partial Factors Design (PFD). The developments in computer technology allows for considering a transition to application of higher level of assessment (fully probabilistic methods). One of these methods is SBRA (Simulation-based Reliability Assessment method) documented in publications [1], [2] and [12]. The subject of this paper is a demostration of thepotential of SBRA assessment of the reliability of timber components and joints using an example of timber beam.
