VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava with its seven faculties plays an important role in the educational process in the Czech Republic and is also heavily involved in science and research. The Faculty of Civil Engineering, being a part of the Technical University of Ostrava, has been cooperating in several national and international projects and deals with important research tasks in the basic and applied research. The Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Technical University of Ostrava is also involved in activities carried out by CIDEAS (Centre for Integrated Designer Advanced Structures): the faculty teams of experts investigate into various technical issues, technologies and procedures needed in practice. CIDEAS operates in all Faculties of Civil Engineering in the Czech Republic. This means, the teams consist of experts from Prague, Brno and Ostrava.
