Original language description
This paper deals with probability assessment of masonry compressive strength as a basis for laboratory testing of post-tensioned masonry corner. The results of laboratory testing of bricks and mortar strength are introduced with its statistical characteristics and the result histogram of masonry compressive strength is ordained using Monte Carlo simulation and appropriate software. At VSB ? TU Ostrava, Faculty of Civil Engineering, is under way the laboratory testing of different types of pre-stressed masonry corner. Assessment of masonry strength indicates the size of pre-stressing force. This paper is complemented with particular test results and possible ways of masonry FEM analysis.
