Viscoelastic behavior of asphalt belts at different temperatures in the sliding joint
Original language description
This paper deals with the description of the behavior of asphalt belts which are used to create a sliding joint in foundation structures. The sliding joint is usually applied to eliminate the effects of undermining. Due to undermining, different deformation loads are created on the ground surface, which are then transferred to the foundation structures. Relative horizontal deformation is one of the most dangerous. The effect of this deformation can only be eliminated by using the application of a sliding joint in the foundation structure and using the rheological properties of asphalt belts. At our university different types of asphalt belts are tested; their viscoelastic behavior by shear loads and different environment temperatures are studied. Currently numerical models are created, which are compared with the results of laboratory tests.
