Analysing the Slabs by Means of the Finite Difference Method

Slabs rank among structures which are used very frequently. The slabs can be analysed by the finite difference method which is described in this paper. Two types of square concrete slabs are used for the analysis. Deflections, specific bending moments and torsion moments were chosen for the analysis. Algorithms for the calculation were developed and calculated for various systems of equations. This paper also aims at evaluating time which each method needs for solution of a set of linear equations withalgorithms developed in Matlab.Results of this method are compared with those obtained by the finite element method.
