An Innovative Prediction Model of Corrosion Processes on Weathering Steel Structures
Original language description
The corrosion rate of the weathering steel is considerably lower than that of the standard carbon steel. In spite of this, possible effects of corrosion losses on reliable service of the structure throughout the designed service life should be consideredwhen designing the structures. A new prediction model designed for calculation of corrosion losses is introduced in this paper. This paper also introduces the experimental corrosion tests that are carried on the existing weathering steel structures to validate the analytical model.
