Determining the Size of Anchor Plates on the Basis of Laboratory Measurements

  • Original language description

An important part of the design of anchorage strands is the proper use of anchor plates, which is responsible for transfer of point load (pre-stressing force) from the steel element to the masonry. The anchor plates are usually designed from steel platesthat provide transmission of the pre-stressing force from rod (ropes) to the masonry by concentric pressure. Therefore, their size is designed to not exceeded the design strength of concentric pressure masonry under the anchor plate. The thickness of the anchor plates contributes to reduce its deformation during tensioning to a minimum. The aim of this paper is performance of laboratory measurements of prestressed masonry deformation especially in the anchorage zone with using of anchor plates with dimensions of 150 x 150 whit thickness 10 and 20 mm. Prestressed element is a brick corner with a height of 870 mm and thickness 440 mm (exposed masonry). Subsequently are intended anchor plates of suitable size parameters so that they can b
