Original language description
This paper deals with brownfields in contact with the watercourse. The Regional Development Strategy 2014-2020, which was prepared by the Ministry for Regional Development by the Plan of non-legislative tasks of the Government to the 1st half of 2013 istaken into account in the research. It deals with a part of the city of Opava in detail, which is one of the territories, where a City canal pound flows through. It has a significant impact on the quality of the area designated in the past for industrialtextile production. The article deals mainly with complex of OPAVLEN issues and possibilities of using the area of former textile factory. It partly deals with the actual city canal pound, to explain both the term and its historical function.
