The article informs about research on the coexistence of sculptures and architecture in the second half of the 20th century. The research is focused on sculptures in a public space of the campus of the Technical University of Ostrava. In the socialist era, when the area was established at Poruba, resources to works of art have been allocated in the the investment construction budgets. At present, the acquisition and installation of the works of art is left to a random decision. During the existence of campus of the Technical University of Ostrava (founded in 1965) form sculptures collection on site whose value is not only artistic, but also financial. Research validates the existing situation of the art works but also their history and illustrates thegenesis of individual sculptures in quest of archival materials.
