Conversion of Historic Buildings in Terms of Architectural Design and Building Construction
Original language description
Major challenge in the conversion of historic buildings is to find new uses, which fully exploits the potential of these buildings in terms of architectural and building technical. This may be a small working-class house from the period of the IndustrialRevolution, outbuilding or giant industrial complexes in which thousands of workers used to work. This process requires qualified professionals who are well versed in architecture, civil engineering, but also have knowledge of such disciplines as sociology, regional development, ecology, etc. We must not forget the return on investment, which is a very important factor for realization. Converted object should be economically self-sufficient.
