The Thermal-humidity Analysis of the Performance of the Ventilated Air Gap
Original language description
Ventilated air gaps are often part of building structures especially of roofs and exterior walls. The principle of the correct operation of the air gap is the heating of the air inside the gap and removing of moisture. This positively influences the thermal-technical properties of the structures. Moreover ventilated facades also fulfill an aesthetic function. The paper deals with the evaluation of temperature and humidity inside the ventilated air gaps and also with the impact of air gaps to thermal-technical properties of the structures. Three types of the wall structure are compared in this paper. Specifically there is a comparison of the structure with ventilated air gap and the structure without ventilated air gap. To evaluate the performance of structures there are used data which are obtained by experimental measuring in the experimental passive standard timber-frame building located in Ostrava. Then the measured data are evaluated in the study. There are evaluated temperatures inside the structures according to the solution of the façade. There are also evaluated values of relative humidity inside the ventilated air gap according to the solution of the exterior cladding and the thickness of the ventilated air gap.
