Mineralogical and mechanical properties of fly ash produced by AMO power station with respect to soil treatment

  • Original language description

Soil treatment by fly ash is managed by EN 14227-14. This standard has been valid since 2008; however, in Czech Republic there has not been any experience with fly ash as a binder. Siliceous fly ash (class F) produced by the AMO power station was tested as potential binder. It was mixed with CI clays. Results of laboratory tests show that admixture of fly ash do not improve significant mechanical properties of original soil. Better results, especially in case of CBR values, were obtained in case when soil was mixed with fly ash and lime.
