Original language description
The article focuses on the optimization of the numerical 2D chloride diffusion model applicable in the analysis of the initiation of corrosion on the reinforcement in the concrete. The article deals with optimizing the mesh of finite elements in terms of their size and also considers the effect of length of the time step the non-linear calculation. It takes into account the change of the diffusion coefficient over the time, i.e. the effect of aging. Results are compared with the 1D and also 2D analytical model. The work includes a study of selected concrete mixtures from classical and high performance concrete. The effect of the diffusion coefficient on the accuracy of the chloride ion concentration results is observed with respect to the topology of the mesh size and time step size. (C) 2019 Author(s).
