Tunnel constructions of transport infrastructure and their fire safety
Original language description
The road and rail infrastructure together with the technical infrastructure is a determining factor of the present daylife of human society, function of cities and municipalities. With the internationally developing cooperation and business within the European countries, the number of transport constructions of the motorway character grows over the areas, where it is necessary to build from the technically operational reasons extensive flyovers or tunnel constructions. The number of these constructions must meet requirements for ensuring fire safety; namely road tunnel constructions. In new climatic conditions in this 21st centrury with a loss of capacity of natural water resources usable for fire needs it will be necessary to reassess whether the hydraulic utilization of the used water source has been reduced. The water supply reliability and the pipe network ability to bring water to the individual supply points must be the primary task of operators concerning tunnel structures. How and by what kind of methods and means, by means of analysis can the real utility of water resources and distribution systems for the fire-fighting tunnel structures needs of the transport infrastructure indicate to the sufficient extends this article.
