The article contextualizes less known, though not any less salient Ostrava's urban designs. At the end his life, Camillo Sitte finished a regulatory plan for Marianske Hory that most respectfully drew from the original conditions of the district. Unfortunately, the building phase significantly diverted from the initial design. The second part of the article deals with Jubilejni colony that has remained a unique piece of work set in fragmented surroundings. The last part focuses on Czechoslovak functionalism from 1945 to 1948 on the example of Belsky lee housing development: an extraordinary case of transition from functionalism to Socialist realism.
