The article deals with the construction of large water coridor in terms of impact on urban areas. The aim is to show, on the example of the intended construction of the Danube-Odra-Elbe (DOE) water corridor, which runs through the territory of the Czech Republic, possible negative effects, especially with regard to environmental aspects, with the possible prediction of environmental destabilization. The prediction is based on a theoretical view of the potential risk and relevant available data.
