Spectral graph partitioning in security analysis related to electrical network

  • Original language description

This paper describes utilization of Spectral graph partitioning in security analysis. Electrical network is perceived as a system of nodes which together form a graph (network). We use very simple and understandable examples using Fiedler's theory. Within application of this theory, the most important power lines of the entire power grid are selected. Facilities related to power lines are logically ordered and considered by author's modified analysis. The used analysis has been improved and optimized for hazards related to illegal acts. Each facility of electrical network is connected with possible kind of attack and each of these devices is gradually evaluated by five coefficients. These coefficients take values from 1 to 10 points. On the coefficient basis, the final level of risk was assessed. Finally, the most risky facilities are selected and security measures are set up accordingly. (C) 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
