Original language description
The Real-time Locating Systems (RTLS) are also well known as real-time location systems have recently become significantly important part of many location aware systems. RTLS systems are primarily used for the object tracking placed indoor. This area relates to the healthcare environment where tracking and monitoring of patients are important. The paper deals with the overview of the possible applications of the RTLS systems in the healthcare facilities and their potential benefits. The paper also brings conceptual information about two currently developed systems with the cooperation of Trauma Center of University Hospital in Ostrava with a target of the patient database and mobile application development on the base of the Internet of Things allowing for fully digital archiving patient records. The second system focuses on the development of RTLS system based on the Infra Red (IR) system with anchors where the location of the patient is acquired using IR tags.
