Driving Dynamics Study in Firefighting Vehicles Drivers Training on a Training Polygon

  • Original language description

The article deals with studying the driving dynamics of emergency fire trucks and their testing on the closed training polygon Automotodrom s.r.o., Brno. It is focused on the issue of braking and driving in a circle and the subsequent evaluation of longitudinal and lateral acceleration. Measurements were taken on dry asphalt with full fire extinguisher tanks. The experiments were carried out on two different firefighting vehicles construction types, TATRA with mixed chassis and SCANIA with urban chassis. The results of the measurements can be used for fire protection units within the driver education system to improve safety when driving to intervene.
