Original language description
A round-robin study involving six laboratories was conducted to develop a new standard testing procedure for hybrid mixtures of dust and vapor. Measurements of maximum explosion pressure and maximum pressure rise rate were performed using a modified 20L sphere. This effort, part of the NEX-HYS project and documented by DIN, aimed to ensure the accuracy and consistency of results across laboratories. The study highlighted the critical impact of precise pre-ignition pressure rise (PIPR) measurements and a leak-free test apparatus on the reliability of explosion characteristics.
