Original language description
Noise is one of currently most significant problems of railway traffic. The wheelset, especially the wheel, is one of the most significant sources of the total noise. The reduction of the wheel acoustic energy can be achieved by optimising the wheel design or using vibration and noise absorbers. The absorber significantly contributes to reducing noise of the wheel. This paper aims at presenting the process of designing absorbers and discussing the results obtained so far.
