    Modelling of the complex atmospheric boundary layer physics with mathematical models of fluid flow is affected by boundary conditions, i.e. profiles of wind speed, temperature and turbulent variables, which differ for various conditions of atmospheric stability. Atmospheric boundary layer modelling over the real terrain is of great importance, because of impact of various surfaces (wavy terrain, urban areas, forests, water surfaces and so on). The real surface can be represented by its characteristic roughness and heat flux. Importance of these parameters and their combinations are discussed in this contribution with respect to the wind and temperature profiles and especially to the ground level concentrations of gaseous pollutants
