Integrating Knowledge Based on Operator's Experience into a Supervisory Control System
Original language description
Every manufacturing company gathers and carefully records millions of data items on its production processes. Usually this data is required for tracking product quality and quantity to meet regulatory requirements or to be able to respond to productivitydemands. There is, however, knowledge based on experience, intuition, practice of human operators and experts required to transfer the acquired data into information, which can be then used effectively to optimise the production process itself. This useof data is now regarded as a new class of "industrial intelligence" that can be extremely valuable in detecting events and trends that can be analysed to improve production. This paper reviews the present state of the art of a production system controlled by a supervisory control system interfacing human operators, based on SCADA/HMI system. Further, it suggests methods of integrating knowledge of operators and managers into a knowledge based application, which can cooperate with the su
