Knowledge Management and Life Cycle Support through Open System Architecture

  • Original language description

The increasing needs for small batches and correct first time production will require considerable streamlining of the design and production phases of the life-cycle and this in turn means that design and production knowledge availability and correctnessis a fundamental requirement. The most advantageous feature of open system architecture is to the system developers who do not need to lose time and energy on system integration the system supporting services, and can instead concentrate on the actual applications. The open and flexible infrastructure presented to the system designer supports this.
