This contribution describes results obtained at the Department of Control Systems and Instrumentation of the VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava during solving the problem how to arrange courses from the area of control systems and instrumentation in external teaching, when new study programs were opened in Šumperk and two other are being prepared for opening in Třinec and Uherský Brod. All these workplaces are equipped with computers or computer laboratories, but no technical laboratories are availablethere. Two ways have been explored to solve this problem. One focused to virtual laboratories, Internet connections, remote control, the use of internet connected SCADA/HMI systems, etc. And second way oriented on developing special portable laboratorytasks, which can be transported to any teaching place. The first developed laboratory task, oriented on logical systems and sensors and supported by the Mitsubishi Alpha Controller, are described in this paper
