Determination of constants of the fatigue crack growth equation, suitable for elasto-plastic fractue mechanics, us usually realised by methods of physical metallurgy i.e. by surface replication procedure. Measured cracks are physically short and resulting constants may be influenced by the stage I crack growth behaviour, usual at the very beginning of the stage II crack growht. In this paper attempt is made to calculate constants of the fatigue crack growth equation by utilizing infomation implied in French and Wohler cruves without mentioned influence.
