Analysis of Pressure Wave Spreading in Circular Pipe
Original language description
Laminar to turbulent flow transition in the circular pipe is one of the oldest and yet unsolved problems of hydrodynamic. Transition flow is often referred as Poiseuille flow in the literature. Numerical investigations were usually carried out by using Navier - Stokes equations, inserting initial disturbance to the system and observe, when solution become unstable. Published results indicates, that N-S equations yield unstable flow generated by finite amplitude disturbance for Re numbers higher than 2300. Perturbations and streaks were observed during physical experiments and simulated by the numerical simulations
