    Experimental Determination of Elastic Modulus of Hose

    The paper deals with experimental determination of elastic modulus of hoses depending on working liquid pressure. The methodology of experimental determination of elastic modulus is described within the paper. The experimental device, which makes possible to determine elastic modulus depending on liquid working pressure, is also described. The elastic modulus was determined indirectly by measuring of liquid volume, which flows out from the hose to volumetric vessel due to compressibility of liquid and hose, when the pressure drops from operating pressure to atmospheric pressure. The bulk modulus was determined by liquid volume, which flows out from pipe to the volumetric vessel due to pipe and working liquid compressibility. The working liquid for these measurements was mineral oil. The dependence of elastic modulus on pressure is evident on the base of measurements. The hose modulus of elasticity is significant input parameter in mathematical simulation of hydraulic systems behaviour.
