An experimental study of machining of Incnel 718 with coated carbide and ceramic tools
Original language description
Inconel 718 is a difficult to cut nickel-based superalloy commonly used in aerospace industry. This paper presents an experimental study of machining of this alloy with coated carbide and ceramics tools. The experimental results showed that the selectedmaterials of cutting tools are not suitable for machining Inconel 718. Wear of ceramic's tool occurred by fracture and wear of coated carbide tools occurred by rubbing. Therefore, we will continue to experiment, but with other types of cutting materials.
