    LOAD EFFECTS AND FATIGUE LIFE ASSESSMENT OF CRUCIFORM WELDED JOINT USING PROBABILISTIC SBRA METHOD

    The paper deals with probabilistic fatigue life assessment of the cruciform joint with load-carrying fillet welds. Load effects in relation to the method of fatigue resistance assessment are quantified. It is shown that computed structural hot spot stress values significantly depend on the location of reference points. The effective notch stress is computed unambiguously, when effective notch root radius is selected. Probabilistic fatigue life assessment is executed using SBRA method. Variability of thefrequency of occurrence for all stress ranges and variability of magnitudes of stress ranges is considered using bounded histograms. The acquired results greatly differ depending on the assessment procedure of fatigue action. Probabilistic assessing using SBRA can give good idea about the growth of accumulative damage.
