    CFD Thermal Analysis of Electromotor Frame

    The contribution deals with the CFD (Computer Fluid Dynamics) thermal analysis of the electromotor frame performed with the aim to reach the better cooling ability of the electromotor cooling system.The approach is based of the iterative process whereasthe surface temperatures of the electromotor frame are calculated via finite volume method for certain heat flux distribution and results are compared with values obtained by measurements via thermovision camera and thermoelements. The process is finished after the surface temperature corresponding to the real state is reached. This adjusted model is then expected to be used in the optimization process leading directly to the required reduction of the motor surface temperature and mass.
