The efficient energy ? Assessment of influence of ash content in coal on moisture bonding
Original language description
From the point of energy, moisture of coal represents important parameter which influences the calorific value. The high content of waters in coal decreases the efficiency of combustion processes because 20 to 25 % of heat released during combustion is lost for water removal. It is necessary to know behaviour of water in coal for the purposes of obtaining of efficient energy. For this study, there were selected: two samples of coal from the Libous Open Pit Mine (Severoceske doly, .a. s. ? North BohemianMines, Chomutov, Czech Republic) and one sample of coal from MIBRAG Mines (Rohrbraunkohle, Germany). The Mines MIBRAG are exploiting coals with calorific values of 9 to 11.5 MJ/kg containing 6.5 to 9 % of ash, water content of 48 to 53 % and sulphur concentration of 1.5 to 2 %. The sample from the Mine Libous has moisture around 3 to 32 %, ash content of 31 %, calorific value of 11.5 MJ/kg, and sulphur concentration of 2.5 to 3 %. The studied samples differ significantly in their moistu
