Thermodynamics of Modern Conventional and Nuclear Power Technologies
Original language description
The new efficient method of modeling and thermodynamic analysis of power engineering systems has been presented. With its help it is possible comparison of different structures and investigation of the influence of a particular constituent process onto the whole system efficiency. The shaft work or the exergy is the main thermodynamic quantity taken into account in analyzes. The problem of time in thermodynamics has been presented. Because in the classical thermodynamics the time is assumed to be infinite, which means all the processes discussed are in equilibrium state (quasi?static processes as a result of the Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics), a procedure should be worked out that would allow thermodynamic analyzes of processes, in which the equilibriumstate has not been reached. Another words, the problem is how to take into account process kinetics in thermodynamic considerations. The suggested approach is the modeling using dimensionless parameters, among them the process intensity,
