Connection of FEM with the Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment Method in Technical Practice
Original language description
This paper focuses on the probabilistic numerical solution of the problems in mining and mechanical engineering. The Simulation-Based Reliability Assessment (SBRA) Method and FEM are presented in the solution of a hard rock (ore) disintegration process (i.e. the bit moves into the ore and subsequently disintegrates it; the results are compared with experiments; new design of excavation tool is proposed) and in the solution of designing of a new testing machine for fatigue testing of real railway axles (for the project and design of massive testing machine is important to know the basic dynamic characteristics of system). The most suitable way for solutions of mentioned problems is the combination of FEM and SBRA Method (new and innovative trend).
