External Fixators for Treatment of Complicated Pelvis Fractures
Original language description
This article is focused on the design of external fixators applied in traumatology and orthopaedics. These fixators have been designed in the Czech Republic and they can be used in the treatment of open and unstable (i.e. complicated) fractures of pelvisand its acetabulum. Two versions (i.e. old and new) are compared and evaluated. Numerical modelling (i.e. Finite Element Method), together with CAD modelling, experiments, material engineering and nanotechnology are presented as a support for developingof a new design of external fixators.
