CZECH APPROACH TO SMART PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Original language description
Public transport in the Czech Republic is used by the 34 % of the passengers which is the highest number in the EU. This success began with the development of integrated transportation systems at the beginning of 90ties of the 20th century. Nowadays theindividual systems formally administrated by counties (municipalities) are integrated at different levels. The main goal for the near future is to keep existing users on board. Public transport in the Czech Republic teeters on the edge - a new urban passenger is gained with difficulties and existing users can easily leave. That is why the public service needs to offer new benefits for its users, right and in-time information and integration of single transport providers in information and payment services.
