Increasing tool life in turning with variable depth of cut.

  • Original language description

The article deals with the improvement of cutting tool durability by using CAD/CAM systems. It proposes new roughing turning cycles where variable depth of cut is applied. The experimental part verifies the theoretical prerequisites when the flange is being machined with the sintered carbide cutting tool. It compares the turning where standard roughing cycle is used and the turning where the proposed roughing cycle with variable depth of cut is applied.
