Original language description
Most of operating motor vehicles use for their drives conventional fuels such as gasoline or diesel oil. There are two main problems related to the fuels. The first one is their negative environmental impact and the second one is the limitation of oil reserves in the world. That is why large automobile factories have been for several years intensively working on the development and validation of alternative propulsion for motor vehicles. The paper aims to present selected technical solutions and at thesame time to evaluate the possibilities of their practical use. It is the truth, that some of them will not be able to reach this goal in the near future due to possible technical problems, too expensive acquisition price of propulsion or due to the highcosts of production, transport and storage.
