    Gearing with a prolonged contact ratio - so called HCR gearing is used more and more in these days, mainly for the gearboxes in the automobile industry, and for other transport machines. HCR gearing mainly influences the noise reduction in the gearing system. Relative addendum of the HCR gearing usually changes the height of the gear h(a)*, however, this value must be higher than h(a)* &gt; 1.
